WCu15 Tungsten-copper Disc
WCu15 tungsten-copper discs are circular discs made from tungsten-copper alloys, where about 85% of the mass is tungsten (W) while 15% is copper (Cu). In manufacturing, tungsten and copper alloys are required due to the individual attributes of tungsten (very hard, high melting point) and copper (great thermal/electrical conductivity). With these attributes, tungsten-copper discs are produced and distributed to industries. There are many WCu15 tungsten-copper discs used in industry, including in EDM, electronic packaging, resistance welding, and high-temperature molds. In electronic packaging, WCu15 tungsten-copper discs function as heat sinks by absorbing and dissipating heat from components. In EDM, the discs are excellent as they are subcontracted to manufacture electrodes due to their high hardness and conductivity.
