WCu Grinding Wheel
WCu grinding wheels are specially made teacher tools for electrical discharge machining (EDM) of polycrystalline diamond (PCD) to make teacher tools more efficient. Because of their unique properties, they are extremely important to modern machining that requires high precision and efficiency. WCu grinding wheel electrodes rank first in EDM of PCD. This is because their excellent thermal and electrical properties allow the electrode to create and maintain a stable temperature field during high velocity discharges, and therefore lower the chance of thermal damage caused by discharges. Furthermore, their excellent strength and wear resistance prolong the usable life of the electrode, which in turn reduces the frequency of replacement, leading to higher production efficiency. Because of their excellent electrical and thermal properties, along with their increased strength and arc erosion resistance, tungsten-copper alloys are valuable in high-voltage electrical switch contacts, electrical discharge machining (EDM) electrodes, rocket nozzle liners, and high-temperature molds.
