WCu Erosion Electrode Wheel
WCu EDM erosion electrodes wheels have been made for a long time for electrical discharge machining (EDM). They are made from a tungsten-copper alloy, which includes the melting point and hardness of tungsten with the electric and thermal conductive properties of copper, which make them suitable for machining applications that need optimal precision and a higher level of wear resistance. WCu erosion electrodes wheels withstand loss of machining material and shape loss in the high-temperature environment of electrical discharge machining (EDM). They also have a longer service life. While being heated, the copper in the alloy semi-melts and evaporates, absorbing heat and self-cooling, which, in addition, protects the electrode wheel surface. WCu EDM wheels are made from highly advanced processes, such as high temperature sintering, isostatic pressing, and copper infiltration, to ensure a uniform composition and closely packed structure. These wheels are a better option than traditional copper or graphite electrodes. They provide better machining speed, less wear of electrodes, and a better surface quality of the workpiece.
