Electrical Discharge Electrode WCu Wheel
For working with hard alloys and complicated metal parts, EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) is the machining technology of choice. EDM is also unique in the non-traditional machining methodologies. The EDM machining is also influenced by what the electrodes of the EDM system are made of, the machining productivity, quality, and accuracy of the EDM. Due to the thermal erosion, electrical erosion, and thermal resistances of the W-Cu alloys, they are EDM electrodes.
EDM is also distinguished for the versatility of the materials it is able to machine, and for the usage of pulsed and high-frequency electrical discharges it is able to efficiently remove material to make the geometries of difficult parts. Some of these materials are hardened and high-speed steels, and cemented carbides. The electrodes have to have electrical and thermal conductivities, temperature increasing and autothermal resistances, low erosion with thermal discharges, and be able to be machined with stability and with a good finish during thermal discharges. EDM electrodes made from W-Cu alloys fit these EDM electrode manufacturers around perfectly.
