CuW Plasma Spray Anode

Electrodes and nozzles for plasma guns are referred to as plasma spray cathodes and anodes as well. Plasma spray coating can produce high-quality coatings with excellent durability and reliability. Plasma spray coating is among the most versatile thermal coating techniques.

Extreme amounts of energy are applied to most of the coating materials, which are feedstock powders, to be melted during thermal spraying. Plasma torches create a chamber for the cathodes and anodes. Argon, nitrogen, hydrogen, and helium plasmas are allocated to the electrodes and to the nozzles. When the direct current is applied to the cathode, an arc is formed with the anode, and a massive amount of thermal energy is produced. The temperature within the chamber is at least 10,000 °C. The chamber's extreme temperature is a threat to the tungsten-copper plasma spray nozzles and electrodes, which are the most important parts of the plasma spray guns.
