CuCr1Zr Copper Alloy
CuCr1Zr is a copper-zirconium-chromium alloy that is precipitation hardened and contains about 0.6-1.2% chromium and 0.03-0.3% zirconium. Increased zirconium and chromium in copper are normally detrimental to its properties. However, high alloying additions paradoxically help in improving strength and hardness, while also improving thermal stability, together with the high thermal and electrical conductivity present in the copper alloy.
It is used in all cases in which copper (Cu), chromium (Cr), and zirconium (Zr) alloys, which are characterized by a combination of excellent electrical and mechanical properties, are required in all branches of the aerospace industry, the automotive industry, and also in the power industry (CuCr1Zr is used as a combination of the most reliable ).
