Chromium Zirconium Copper Conductive Nozzle
Nozzles, particularly the conductive versions, are made of CrZrCu, or CrZr zirconium copper. Improvement in the material properties of conductively polished copper nozzles (i.e., higher strength, less wear) means nozzles are more wear-resistant. This allows nozzles to operate in more extreme welding situations and to operate for significantly longer periods in higher-demand applications. The early ceramic contact tips made in Japan support the performance ceramic tips and highlight the metal material (especially CrZrCu). The unique operational and physical properties of the CrZrCu nozzles make them the preferred nozzles for demanding applications and for welding automation. In automated welding cells, the nozzles have a long life, which means they can operate autonomously with limited downtime due to the need for nozzle replacement. In precision welding, the nozzles have stable conductive properties, which result in a higher quality weld.
