C70318 CuNi3CoSi Foil Strip
C70318 is also a wrought copper-nickel alloy. Like C70350, the base is the same, except C70318 has undergone some changes to refine aspects to meet particular specifications. Attributes are not completely standardised in the public domain. However, generalised compositions are a copper balance, 1-2% Ni, some minor adjustments in Si, Co 0.5-1% Si, less than 1% Co, and deviations are not totally standardised and are kept to a minimum, less than 2%, for cryogenic or ultra-high precision applications. Copper-nickel alloys are used to manufacture strips for a wide array of applications due to corrosion resistance, good mechanical properties, and good thermal conductivity. Strips have very high strength and high thermal and electrical conductivity. They also have very good stress relaxation resistance and good formability for the strength level, and good solderability. They are also not sensitive to stress corrosion cracking. C70318 has formability, and it is particularly useful in precision-stamped and lead frames used in high-frequency RF devices and medical devices. Other applications are corrosion-resistant interconnects for EV batteries and heat exchangers in renewable energy, where they are used in medical devices and medical devices.
